The Block

For Canon Photo5 comp.

I froze my umbrella in a large block of ice (this took several days). I then took photos of the umbrella from many angles as the ice melted. This was my favourite, a backlit shot with a magical reflection in the foreground. This image was shot with my 50mm prime lens. The Block refers to not only the block of ice, but also the chopping board used as the base. (I had to hack at the ice with a knife to get the shape I wanted.
